The openSPOT3 is a battery powered, portable, standalone digital radio internet gateway (hotspot) designed mainly for amateur radio. You can talk with others on digital radio networks by using an openSPOT3, Wi-Fi internet access, and your digital transceiver.

The default login password for the web interface is openspot (all letters are lower case). You don’t have to set any port forwards in your router for openSPOT. All the protocols used are designed in a way that initiate the connection, so your router will keep the used port open in both directions. Resetting configuration

OpenSPOT – BrandMeister
The openSPOT is a standalone digital radio IP gateway / hotspot designed and manufactured by SharkRF. More info about the device is available here. You can use openSPOT to connect to the BrandMeister network, and talk on reflectors and talkgroups.
Operating a SharkRF Openspot over a MESH Network: Today Darryl, K5DLQ, and I connect our MESH nodes together over an internet tunnel (this simulates a true over-the-air MESH network connection that isn’t possible due to the distance that Darryl and I are from each other) and connect our SharkRF Openspot devices together, then perform a short QSO.
